Reading and Homework Club Spotlight

The reading and homework program at Gideon Court has been making strides this year by giving students in DeKalb the opportunity to access educational and relational help. The students at Gideon Court are given the chance to work  with other students as well as volunteers to complete homework assignments and play educational games.

The Gideon Court club typically hosts 8-12 students. Thanks to the generosity of local volunteers, Gideon Court has recently become our first Reading and Homework Club to meet two nights a week. The extra day helps student accountability and volunteer student relationships and helps to achieve Neighbors’ House’s goal of helping students to meet their God-given potential.

These students are given the tools to be successful in a positive environment. With the help of Josh and Tracy Minnihan as well as other volunteers, the reading and homework program is springing forward into the home stretch of the school year.
